Overview

Kings Island is seeking a high‑energy, safety‑focused Operations Manager to lead Ride Operations and Aquatics. You’ll oversee two of the park’s most visible and guest‑impacting areas, ensuring safe, efficient operations aligned with Six Flags’ expectations for exceptional safety performance, guest service excellence, and associate engagement. You’ll lead large teams, collaborate with park leadership, and directly influence the daily guest experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations for Ride Operations and Aquatics, ensuring all attractions open safely, on time, and in alignment with operating procedures.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training, coaching, audits, and strong adherence to safety protocols.
  • Develop and mentor seasonal and full‑time leaders, building an engaged, high‑performing team.
  • Drive exceptional guest service, ensuring fast, friendly, and consistent interactions at all attractions.
  • Monitor safety and operational incidents, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Support associate experience initiatives, including recognition, communication, engagement, and retention programs.
  • Establish and improve departmental procedures, focusing on safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate across departments and Six Flags parks, sharing best practices and supporting enterprise‑wide initiatives.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring responsible financial planning and cost control.

Qualifications

  • 4–6 years of related operational leadership experience, preferably in attractions, hospitality, recreation, or a similar guest‑focused environment
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams with a focus on associate engagement, communication, and accountability
  • Strong commitment to safety culture, with experience applying safety protocols, conducting training, or leading emergency responses
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities in high‑volume environments
  • Experience managing budgets, planning resources, and supporting operational initiatives
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors across a variety of weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
